Approach
How we may work together
Since one of the most important elements in coaching is the relationship between the coach and the coachee, we strive to create a safe and confidential space that enables you to feel comfortable to discuss your thoughts and feelings about a topic without fear of judgement.
We will agree how best to work with each other, what topics will and won’t be discussed, and our respective roles.
The very nature of coaching means that it is impossible to set out exactly what will be covered in each session, and it is important that you feel that you can set the agenda for each session.
The coach is there to guide you. However, we recognise that it can be helpful for people considering coaching to have a high level overview of the process that we follow.
Our Approach
Awareness
What are your strengths, values, motivations, and interests?
Clarity
What are you discovering about yourself and what does this mean?
Growth
What needs to change and what is your plan?
Awareness
In general, we work with clients to help them develop self awareness through reflection. This is an important first stage in the coaching, but of course continues throughout the programme and beyond. We may look at:
- your strengths both at home and at work
- your preferences in terms of how you like to spend your time, now, in the past, and your perceptions for the future
- your values: what brings you joy, makes life meaningful, interesting, and purposeful
We draw on a range of evidence based coaching tools that support this process which aims to be both enjoyable and insightful.
We will also look at how your life has changed over time. What have been key moments in your life that have impacted you? There may be other factors that may influence changes that you wish to make in your life in the future. This is an opportunity for you to reflect and consider what may be holding you back and what limiting beliefs you still hold about your capabilities.
Clarity
Developing self awareness will enable you to become clearer about:
- What you want to change and the associated timescales for doing so
- How you need to adapt, change, or develop your mindset to support the changes that you aspire to
- What options need to be explored and investigated before committing to the change
- What impact a transition will have on you and what support you need from others
- What ideas can you test out before committing to a new way of being
Growth
We will continue to work with you whilst you are implementing the changes. We will reflect on;
- What are you noticing is different
- What impact your ways of being and mindset is having on you
- What impact the changes you have implemented are having on others around you
- What additional support you may need
- What opportunities are emerging for you
Our aim is to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and tools to help you to transition to your new life, to reinvent yourself and embrace what the second half of life has to offer.
